In the last ten years, this will only be the second concert the singer has played in Metro Detroit. And it’s something of a late arrival — Madonna announced her 2012 world tour dates over a month ago, and Detroit wasn’t on the list. The Nov. 8 concert date falls on a week-long gap in her four month schedule between stops in St. Paul and Cleveland.
Tickets for the Nov. 8 show at Joe Louis Arena are $48-$173 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. March 19 through LiveNation, Ticketmaster and the Joe Louis Arena box office.
March 12, Detroit Free Press: There are two early-bird opportunities this week: A pre-sale for Madonna fan club members will run from 10 a.m. Tuesday through 5 p.m. Thursday, with another for Citi credit card holders from 10 a.m. Wednesday through 5 p.m. Friday.
The tour follows the March 26 release of her new album, “MDNA.” And, if past history is an indicator, it’s going to be a moneymaker — Madonna’s 2008 “Sticky and Sweet” series grossed $408 million, the most ever for a solo artist.
